Postures and Movements
The following animations review correct and incorrect postures and movements. Holding plumb alignment speeds healing of either chronic or acute low back pain. Not holding plumb alignment with static postures or with movements can cause small reinjuries through out your day and perpetuate symptoms. Severe sharp low back pain with movements can be minimized if correct movements are used in daily activities.

Low Back Disc Herniations
The following animations review the concept of plumb posture relative to formation and progression of disc herniations. Anatomy of the low back is reviewed. Effects on disc compression are demonstrated in bending forward, backwards, sideways and in neutral (plumb) posture. Acute low back pain is often the result of disc injury and often causes distortions of the body such as being unable to fully stand upright or being tilted to one side.

Postural Distortions and Progression in Old Age
The following animations review postural distortions of the low back and how these distortions can become more fixed as we age. Progression from disc herniation into disc degeneration is demonstrated. Corrective stretches are also reviewed.
